Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Scenic Drive to Akagera National Park

After a brief orientation, set off on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Akagera National Park, traveling through verdant hills and small communities as the landscape gradually transforms into open savannah.

Upon arrival, check into your chosen luxury lodge and take time to relax with a chilled welcome drink and lunch on a terrace overlooking the park or nearby lake. In the late afternoon, enjoy a short introductory game drive inside the park, ideal for spotting zebras, impalas, and giraffes as the sun casts golden light over the savannah.

Return to your lodge for sundowners by a firepit, followed by a three-course dinner with Rwandan-inspired cuisine and international flavors. Your guide will brief you on the next day’s full safari adventure.

This tranquil excursion is ideal for bird lovers and photographers. After the boat safari, return to your lodge for a leisurely brunch and time to unwind.

In the afternoon, you can opt for a short sundowner drive or simply enjoy cocktails and canapés from a scenic deck as the sun sets over the park. Dinner this evening is served under the stars perhaps a bush BBQ or torch-lit lakeside dinner, depending on your lodge.
